All,

I built a CSS drop down menu but it's not "going over" the HTML module slightly below it.  My guess is that it's a z-index issue but can't figure out how to correct it.

Here's the z-index I added to every class in my CSS file relating to menu:

z-index: 9999999 !important;

Here's what it looks like:

The grey drop down menu with the red X's is behind the blue stripe of the html module below it.  It needs to be over it.

What am I missing?  Do I need to adjust the z-index of the html pro module?

Thanks,

Mark

In most cases you should give the element a position:relative too.

Timo,

That didn't worl athough I see something odd happening. When I put in a different CSS menu, the same thing happens but only when I'm not logged in as the host account. When I log in using the host account, the menu works as it should. By that I mean the drop down menu hovers over all other elements.

Do you know why this would work correctly for the host account and not others?

Thanks,
Mark

Strange..
It could also be caused by HTML errors, did you do a validation of the HTML?

No but I need to look it over more because there could be something else involved here.

The menu is built dymanically based on the visitor. Their records are pulled from the DB, loaded to a repeater control and that makes the drop down. As the host, I wouldn't have records, so I put in some dummy HTML for testing and it works. My guess is that my test HTML is well formatted and the dymanic HTML is not or some other CSS is coming in to play.

I'll have to view source using both users and look at the HTML.

Mark
