As stated in the title, loggin into my DN7 hosted site results in a copy of the website running within the login window. This always occurs when loggin in from a new tab on the browser. Once it occurs that copy of dnn is always running when clicking on the login link. Sometimes I'm able to clear this behavior. I haven't found a repeatable sequence to clear it. Once the strange login window DNN copy issue is fixed it seems to stay fixed within the same browser tab. Open a new tab and there the problem is again. I've tried recycling the app pool and clearing the cache. I've tried clearing the browser history. This is independent of the kind of browser. I have a DNN knowledgeable hosting company who has been helpful, but not for something like this.

I've tried reloading the DDN files to my host and restoring a clean database, but nothing has fixed the problem. Is this indicative of a hosting problem or something I've done with the installation? I really need some help here because this leaves me unable to run a hosted DNN application.

Looking at one of the other threads that said to set the IIS to classic, my site only works, such as it is, when set to integrated.

I verified the same symptoms by doing a fresh install of DNN7 on my local machine, then uploading all the files and restoring the database. I started looking at the differences in the two systems.

  • Mine is running on IIS 7.5 and the host is running on IIS 7.
  • Both have identical .Net framework 4.0
  • Mine is running Web Edition 2008R2 SP 1 (build 7601) and host is on Standard Edition 2008R2 without SP1 (build 7600)

I have ASP.Net set to 4 and IIS App Pool set to integrated on my IIS and on the host IIS

My next step will be to try the same experiment with DNN6 to see if it's a host issue specific to DNN7.

This behavior also occurs with a fresh DNN6 upload to the hosting provider. There must be something I'm missing with my installation process.
