Hi we have a client who we implemented an intranet site for using the DNN_ActiveDirectoryAuthenticatio 5.0.4.  It seems to be configured properly as it is authenticating the users automatically.  The Synchronize Roles property is checked in the admin - > modules -> DNN_acitvedirectoryauthentication provider settings, however if i login wiht users in specific roles, the roles are not being added to my security roles in DNN.  What does the Synchronize Roles checkbox do, and how do i make it work?  Do we need to add these roles manually or should it auto create them as it did the users?  I have checked the event logs and there are no errors being raised.  Any suggestions on what to do next?

You have to manually create the roles and they have to match exactly to the AD groups pre-W2K group name. If the provider was setup to automatically create the roles you'd have a lot of useless and unneeded roles in your portal. I.E. My user account here at work belongs to over 20 AD groups but only one would ever be needed for our portal.
