Hi, Bill...

I would add to what I just said that I only was able to see the EDIT screen by clicking on the TASKMANAGER button and entering the "Edit module" option.  The "View" screen never tried to show, as far as I know (there were no errors regarding it).

I will go in and mess with the "Edit / View / Settings" settings for the TASKMANAGER extension on the EXTENSIONS page latter this evening.

THANKS for your help !!!

Jeff

Bill, I promised you some error messages a couple of days ago, and here they are (below).  I started the DNN system around 10:00pm, added a TASKMANAGER task-record at 10:03, and see no unusual error-messages of any kind.    I have almost all log-messages enabled.     Jeff

Jeff,

In regards to the GetSearchItems method not implemented error that you are seeing in the log, that is to be expected as this method in the TaskManager FeatureController simply throws a NotImplementedException rather than returning a valid SearchItemCollection. This error will be logged everytime DotNetNuke's scheduled search indexing task runs. Until you are ready to implement the ISearchable interface you could either remove the ISearchable interface inheritance reference from the FeatureController class declaration at the beginning of FeatureController.cs or code a dummy GetSearchItems method which will return an empty SearchItemCollection.

This error should not prevent the View.ascx control from displaying.

I actually believe that the View.ascx control (the default view control with a blank ControlKey) is displaying - otherwise you would not be able to see and click on the Edit Module action menu item. If the view control is not able to load previously created tasks from the database the control will display as an empty area with only the module title and Manage button visible.

So, your next steps will be to confirm that 1) When you create a new task by completing the form (Edit.ascx) displayed by Edit Module the data is getting saved to the TaskManager Tasks table in the database and 2) The code in the Page_Load method of View.ascx.cs is retrieving that data and properly binding it to the repeater control for display.

1.  Yes, the items are being stored in the database.

2.  Yes, I agree; the next step is to verify the PAGE LOAD subroutine.

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR HELP, BILL !!!

Hey, Bill...

I just did a trial run on my page that hosts the TASKMANAGER module, and it looks like the screen flashes TWICE for both the CANCEL and the SAVE TASK options.

FYI...
