In DNN n6.0, when I wanted to package up a Module I had been working on I would log in as host, click Host -> Module Definitions, select the module I was wanting to package, go down to the bottom and click on the "Create Package" Button, and then just go through the wizard and I would have  a zip file in my /Install/Modules Folder.

I recently upgraded my dev site to DNN 7.0 and just went to package a module to install on my live site, and there is no "Create Package" Button I just have "Update Extension" "Uninstall Extension" and "Cancel"

Does anyone know where the Create Package button went?!

Thanks,

Chris

When logged in as host user and after selecting Host --> Extensions from the Host control bar menu, click the edit "pencil" icon for the particular extension you wish to package. You should see the "Create Package" button if you are are accessing the page directly from the server's console. I believe that the "Create Package" button is hidden if you are accessing the Host --> Extensions page remotely.

Hi William,

I gave that a try and still no luck. I am wondering, I am not seeing the Manage button that usually shows up when in Edit Mode, which is maybe why I am not seeing the Create Package Button either.

I tried clicking on the Edit Page button on the top right of the admin bar but it did nothing, and also clicking stay in Edit Mode, but that check box wont work. Could this be what is causing the Create Package button to not show up?

If so is there a way somehow to get into Edit Mode?

Addendum to above post: I was trying to see why the Edit button might not be working, and found in the release notes of 7.0 that the manage button is gone, which explains why I dont see it anymore.

The error I am getting in the console when hitting the Edit Page button is this

Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 405 (Method not allowed)

I am in the process of developing a skin on a remote testing server which I want to be able to package then install on a production server.

Is this still possible on DNN 7?

Looking at a test site on dnncloudservices it doesn't have Create Package button.

is this because its the cloud test sites? will it be there in the full dev install?

Matt
