Is it safe to assume you are making sure to run VS as an Admin?

Yes

Running VS 2010 as admin
I have the binding hostname set to dnndev.me

I appreciate your help with this.

So if you have the BINDING set to DNNDEV.me, but the templates use DNNDEV you need to change the binding to just DNNDEV
