I am developing the latest and greatest extensions. The problem I am having is that I need to directly view the table data in the database. However, when I attach to the database with SMSS, it breaks the connection to the site.

I have looked at the information at this link, but I don't have an ASPNet user and cannot find it.I am developing locally on Windows 8 using VS2012 and a default installation of DNN7.

How can I view the table data directly within VS2012 or SSMS, without breaking the site?

Are you using the file-based database (SQL Server Compact)? Then you should attach the database into your SQL Express server, and change the connection string in the web.config file accordingly.

Best wishes
Michael

Thanks. I figure out the problem. I did follow the instructions on the provided link, except I substituted the ASPNet user with the same account as the website.

And everything is good.
