Hey guys thanks heaps for the feedback.

I don't need to re-validate the user, I just need to know who is logged on and their role.  I am using ASp.Net 2.0, so can I implement hte Membership class.

I need to determine who the user is and their role in the company, then display the appropriate fleet information.  The Information my asp pages will display is different for each user.  I don't need to get passwords or re-validate.  Once I have the user and role I need to go get the appropriate info in my pages.

Thanks for the hints.

Hi GuitarDude,

Checkout www.snowcovered.com and get nukelet... it's a DNN4 module that runs classic ASP scripts. However, that said I bought the module and have had problems running classic asp with it. I found problems accessing the session and there are issues with forms (you can't have your own form definition as asp.net/dnn only allows one). Anyhoo I didn't put much effort into checking out Nukelet so maybe it's ok. See if you can get an eval version I'd be interested to hear how you get on.

Cheers,

Andrew

I may be stating the obvious to you, but if you pass the id in the query string to the IFRAME then you will have a security hole on your hands, unless you completely trust everyone in your company or security is not a high priority here. The reason that it is a security risk is because anyone with a small bit of technical knowledge could view the URL of the IFRAME and see that you are just passing the username in the query and then type that URL with ANY user name into their browser. If it is a read only intranet app with a low security priority then I'd say go ahead and do it this way for now.
