Hi

I've followed the dnn 7 installation videos to make a single server install. The only slight deviation I made was to create a database up front as demonstrated in the video. I'm using SQL Server Express rather than the full-fat SQL Server, but I followed the install for full fat SQL Server. I did this because I don't understand the conventional way of using SQL Sever Express, when I try to attach to the MDF file from SSMS it tells me that it's locked - even after stopping IIS!

Anyhow,  for my first installation using the dnndev.me domain everything worked great.

I then tried to repeat the installation but this time using a real domain - you can see it at www.rotherweb.co.uk. The problem is that the site always gets redirected to the page gettingstarted.aspx.

Could anyone please help?

Thanks in advance

Rob.

I'm seeing this too on a new 7.0.2 install... seems like something's going wrong with Popups as popups display and disappear.

Now that I think about it, I saw this yesterday, but here's how I recreated it.

I performed an installation using the files that I used for a prior installation. Meaning that most of the extensions and packages were already installed, and thus no longer available.

Any chance you did that? Or did you try a fresh install with a fresh extraction of the INSTALL package?

There was a problem with the first install. So, I deleted and recreated the database and then ran through the installer again. So yah, it does sound similar.

I deleted the database again and went back to the base install files again and re-ran the installer wizard and got the exact same result. I am using SQL Developer Edition 10.0.5500 instead of SQLExpress. Very frustrating.
