I never bother making that change to my host file - I find it to be more trouble than it's worth although I see why it's done.

My solution is easy - place DNN in whatever folder you want, create a new virtual directory or application within IIS that points to it and go. Rarely do I have permissions issues and the installation process is pretty easy.

Thanks for your response Mark. I feel like I have followed your solution, however I am having the IIS issues. The installation seems pretty simple but there is some sort of configuration I feel that I am missing that is holding up my installation. As I have mentioned in this thread, I have researched and played around with quite a few things, but still no success. When I bring up the site www.dnndev.me, it should provide me a page with the DNN information that I have copied into the folder. However it just seems to default to my default page that says "It Works".

If anyone has any ideas or has come across this issue I would love to hear from you.
