Hi there,

If I want to save Site Settings and click Update button I get an error:

Error: Site Settings is currently unavailable. DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.ModuleLoadException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. ---> System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. at DotNetNuke.Modules.Admin.Portals.SiteSettings.UpdatePortal(Object sender, EventArgs e) --- End of inner exception stack trace ---
Host settings is OK. My environment: Win 7, IIS 7.5, .Net 4, Classic mode, SQL 2008 r2 exp.

Thanks

Hi,

I'm having the same problem after upgrading from 7.0.0 to 7.0.2.

Searched the forums and tried different solutions. None worked.

Yes, it is a multiple language portal. And it was before when it worked fine. Changed the default language for a child portal (main portal is not possible with multi language enabled) but no change.
Removed all third party extensions.
Compared webconfig, changed it into the original from the new install. No luck.

Weird thing is, I have an older local copy of the portal, which I upgraded at the same time. There the site settings are working ok.

The error shows with changes to the portal .eg user settings, but changes are being saved. With profile settings on the same tab the changes are not saved in the DB.

Thanks,
Bert

Finally found it.

Found one little difference in host settings in both portals.

In host settings, performance settings, page state persistance, memory setting was checked. Switched this setting to page and the site settings worked again.

Hope this doesn't mean I can't use memory setting anymore.

Best regards,
Bert
