Hi
I can successfully install 4.3 and 4.31 on my shared reseller account at RedFoxHosting.  When navigating to the site for the first time I get a windows login requester (to which I have no credentials) I hit esc and get Server /App error page.
My helpful ISP is at a loss to expain this but says he has traced it down to "something with the EventQueue folder".

As far as I can see I am doing everything right and I get this even if a remove the domain and start from fresh or as an over the top install or as an upgrade.  I am about to try deleting the database and remaking it but . .

On a previous 4.3 install this was also an issue however an F5 would load the page and subsequent page loads (of that page) would be OK.  On navigating to an Admin or Host page for the first time the process of windows login requester - Error Page - Refresh would be repeated.  On this install anyone going to the site would always get the "windows" login etc.

From my limited knowledge this seems to be a first run / compile problem or  ?

I'm baffled and so is my knowledgable ISP.
Does anyone else have a 4.31 running on RedFox ?

Thanks

Carrying on from my previous post:

If I delete and recreate the database DNN does an install without most modules and I can then access the site after some refreshes to clear the error pages.

My ISP says that "Windows Security is raising NTFS Permissions errors when dealing with the EventQueue folder even though both NETWORK SERVICE and the IUSR account has access with .NET running in Impersonated Medium Trust mode".

This is a total nightmare and I really hope somebody here has a solution.

Warren seems to have discovered the cause of this. Below is what he has found

I found the cause of the problem, it seems the identity impersonation doesnt kick in until after the application has started and therefore any file writes attempted during the Application_Start event will fail as the worker process user doesnt have NTFS permissions on the domain webspace. Once the application has started, that event no longer is triggered and impersonation is enabled which is why it works on the refresh.

I know that it is not there setup, since they are configured the way that shared hostings should be. All sites run in thier own Application Pool, under thier own account and this account has full permissions to the folders. He is trying to contact M$ Hosting Support to see if he can get any more information.

OK DNN 4.3.3 has the same issue. It seems to occur when the EventQueue trys to access the files.

The hosting company has each website run as a different User.
Each site runs in an AppPool that has a number of other sites running under it. The AppPool runs as a user tha none of the websites run under. It seems that during the Application_Start event, the site is running under the AppPool user and not the website user. As such, the user that it is running under does not have access to the files, however, the user that the Website runs under has full control to all the DNN files and folders.

Must admit that I'm disapointed that DNN 4.3.3 Final has been released with this issue still there. This is the way that most Good shared hosting companies run. Since each AppPool has a cost of about 8mb running each website in its own AppPool is not viable. It seems to me that DNN is starting to head down the dedicated server root, and forgetting about the people who use this on good quality shared hosting websited.
