Hallo,

sorry to bring up this topic again but for some reason i cannot make Autologin work.
Configuration:

  1. DNN v 7.00.2
  2. Windows Server 2012
  3. IIS 8.0.9200.16384
  4. AD-Provider  05.00.04

my website is running in integraded pipeline - mode. I executed the two commands from the documentation.
Login is working fine when doing it manually, Just auto-login will not work for some reason.

One thing that could be of interest: I cannot enable windowsauthentication on the WindowSignin.aspx as long as the following part

<authentication>
          <windowsAuthentication enabled="true" />
          <anonymousAuthentication enabled="false" />
        </authentication>

is not commented in the web.config. But i guess i dont have to due to the command prompts im executing?

 Any hints are highly appreciated!

regards, Michael

Michael,

sometimes, the web.config for the WindowsSignIn.aspx appears in the directory where this file is located (~/DesktopModules/AuthenticationServices/ActiveDirectory). This is not a real problem, but if it is there, you should leave it there and not change anything about it in the web.config in the site root - or you integrate it's content in the site's root web.config, and delete it from this subdirectory.

Best wishes
Michael

Hi,

there's no web.config stored in ~/DesktopModules/AuthenticationServices/ActiveDirectory) in my case. I tried with and without commenting the lines in the web.config but it did not work out. Are there known issues with Server 2012 or IIS8 ?

regards!

Sorry, Michael... I have no experience with that yet. Maybe Mike Horton can tell you more, when he reads this thread...

Best wishes

I haven't had a chance or ability to test with Server 2012 or IIS 8 but I'm pretty sure you'll still need to do the dos commands that are part of the readme. The lines you mentioned that are in your web.config are put there when the provider is installed and should set the permissions for you under the integrated pipeline mode.
