First off, there were two different recommendations on the upgrade path that were inconsistent.  The URLs for this guidance are:

http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Resources/W...

http://www.willstrohl.com/Blog/PostId...

I didn't realize the inconsistencies until I was already into the process of upgrading a site from v05.06.03 using the following path:

05.06.03 > 05.06.07 > 06.01.03 > 06.02.06 > 07.00.02

The site seemed to be ok until I started comparing menus between a clean 7.0.2 install and my upgraded 7.0.2 site.  I have screen shots and will upload if needed, but the crux of the matter is that when logged in with SU in both sites, the upgraded site is missing all of the Admin menu items in the first (default) menu dropdown and a couple under the second dropdown.  When navigating to the Admin web page, all of the choices are there except that Event Viewer (clean) is now Log Viewer (upgrade).  Should I report this as a bug through Gemini?  I haven't checked there yet to see if this is a known issue.  Any resolution or should I template my site on the upgrade and reinstall on a clean install?  My concern is that this may just be the tip of the iceberg on upgrade induced configuration issues and bugs.

I have also found that this menu discrepancy exists between two different sites on the upgraded instance of DNN.  A default site that came with the upgrade path that was not modified has all of the menu items where the customized content site is missing menu items.
