For an average IT student with programming background but no knowledge of .NET technologies, how long would it take for him/her to learn/use/setup Dot Net Nuke?

Thanks

If you are talking about managing the installation and content publishing, not long at all.

If you are talking about writing modules, then that will take some time and be based more on the programming skills of the person.

Like Scott said, the set up is pretty easy and it doesn't require a lot of technical knowledge. Using it is the same. I picked DNN because I found it to have the best front-end for non-technical users.

Module development is different. If you plan on writing custom code you'll need to get up to speed in .net.

Or you could look at Open Web Studio or XMod Pro which you can use to build modules

Barry,

I looked over OWS a long time ago and the documentation was lacking. I'd like to find a free product like it but don't want to be lost because the developer(s) didn't put in the same effort in to documenatioin and/or support.

Has that changed recently? Is OWS an active product? If so, I may throw some time at it for review.
