I'm logged in as the masteradmin, I can see the standard admin control panel on the top of each page, but Admin and Host are no longer in the menu.

I did the upgrade on a dev server, so if I copy the URL for the Admin -> Event Viewer page from production I can see navigate to the pages on DEV, they're just no longer in the menu.

Do I have to add them manually? Is this normal, or a sign of some other issue that will cause problems later?

The Admin and Host menus were removed from the MENU of a website, but should still be accessible from within the control panel. If you want to turn them back on it should be simply a matter of editing the Page Settings and reenabling them to display them in the Menu again.

Most people are short on screen real-estate and choose to use the Control panel menu options instead though.

Thanks again Chris. I ended up switching to RIBBONBAR, which has the Admin and Host menus. Good thing, I like a lot more. The only trick was I couldn't get to the Host Settings page, because there wasn't a link. This was in DEV so I just copied that URL from our production environment.
