I'd like to write an ASP script that will run in an Iframe that needs to know the DNN username of the viewer.  Creating a module is way over my paygrade.

Is there a way to do this?  Examples appreciated, as I don't use ASP very much!

Here's an option:

Use the default HTML/Text module to embed the iframe and use the token replacement feature to send the username as part of a query string that the asp script can grab.

Depending on your version of DNN, you may need to go to the settings page of the module, then HTML Module Settings and check the box that says "Replace Tokens".

Then in the html put something like: < iframe src="/iframe.asp?DNN_UserName=[User:Username]" >< /iframe >

In your asp, you can access the value passed like so:

< body >
Hello, < %=Request.QueryString("DNN_UserName")% >!
< /body >
