Folks,

A run a community site using DNN. The main page has a blog module called "Community News." So far, I had been creating blog entries under this blog. To reduce my load, I would like some others to have permissions to create a new blog.

I created a security role called "Helpers" and added those persons who would be helping me. Next, I wanted to assign "add blog entry" permissions to this role. The "Blog" module has various sub-modules. I changed the settings for "AddBlogEntries" and added Helpers for "View Module" as well as "Edit Module."

Now, when I log in as one of the helpers, I see "AddNewBlogEntries" available. However, underneath it, the only option I see is "Create My Blog."

I don't want to create a separate blog for each of the helpers. I just want them to use the existing blog "Community News" and add their blog entries.

Can someone please tell me if I am missing something?

Thank you in advance for your help.

Regards,
Peter

This is the way the blog module functions by default, at least with older versions of the module. I believe (could be wrong) that with 5.0 you can allow for multiple authors. Are you running the latest version of the blog module?

Hi Chris,

Thank you for your help.

I was running version 4.1.1. Strangely, the  Extensions page does not indicate that a new upgrade is available. However, on Google search, I see that 5.0 version is available. I am downloading it as we speak. Hopefully, this should take care of the problem.

Regards,
Pradeep
