I'm running into the same issue with 6.2.6 Pro. There were some pages created before the upgrade from 6.1.5 CE to 6.2.6 PE with commas and parenthesis in the page names. At the menu level, they seem to work fine, in general. However, where our content admins had gone in and linked them in HTML modules, the links were all broken. So, I relinked the pages in the HTML modules to their new url "some, page(name).aspx" and they work again.

I tried creating a page, after the upgrade, with a completely wrecked name "a-very_bad(page,name)", the bad characters where stripped as expected, and the resulting page name was "avery_badpagename.aspx".

As for the pre-upgrade created pages, the unwanted characters are showing in the tabpath field in the Tabs table. I know touching the database directly is hardly ever a good idea, but, I wondered if updating the tabpath field to remove the non-alphanumeric characters for those pages might take care of the issue.

I ended up writing a script to redo all of my URLs based on the new pattern that worked.

What do you mean when you say, "a script to redo all of my URLs"? Did your script change something in the database? Or did it leave the database alone and just fix the rendering of the URL?

I'm curious, because I saw it mentioned somewhere to rewrite the piece of the core that renders the URL, which I would really, really like to avoid, for obvious reasons.

I wrote a SQL script to do a fine replace against the database.  Basically the same thing as this... http://www.engagesoftware.com/Product...

Ahh, so you updated the content links to match the new page names commas and all?

Cool. I'll look into this. Thanks for the link.
