I noticed that the Gravity skin, looks wide on IPAD and Android -- I still have my main site on 6.2 with dark knight skin www.commflow.com and it looks awesome on any tablet or phone. How can I make the Gravity skin work the same way?

LLanzot,

You need to incorporate a technique called "Responsive Design" into your skin. This will allow your skin to respond to the form factor from which it's being viewed. If you're running PE/EE then the mobile site template that is responsive is available to you. If you're running CE then I would look on the store or forge for responsive skins or custom design your own.

Also Amelia Marshcall-Miller gave a great talk on responsive design at DNNWorld 2011 which would be very informative to you if you are not familiar  with this technique.

Thanks Clint - I really appreciate your assistance.
I sat through the video -- quite a bit of information for a rookie DNN - non- programmer. I think at this point due to time constraints it would be best if I purchase a skin that does most of what I want.

Any recommendations on skins -- I have a project for a document management reseller --

I would like to follow up with this as I would like to understand how all this works.
What courses, training do you recommend that would go through the fundamentals? I research much but am uncertain where to start with all this information. I need to devise a road map of the key areas.

I need some guidance.

Thanks again.

Llanzot,

I do not have a specific recommendation on a responsive skin. You should be able to find the top vendors in the DotNetNuke Store and find a responsive skin.

Regarding resources to learn, I would recommend Codecademy's web track to learn HTML, CSS, & JavaScript. Then to look more into Responsive design I would select any of the 30 tutorials listed on this page: 30 Useful Responsive Web Design Tutorials.

Hope this helps!
