Hi,

I am looking to update Active Forums v3.6.8 to new free version of 5.0.2 during the process of upgrading my dnn to 6.2.X. I apologize if this question is asked before, but what is the upgrade path I need to follow to upgrade AF module. So far, I gathered I need to update to 3.7 first then 4.0, then run AFImport tool. But after that, what is the upgrade path? do I directly go to 5.0.2? Where do I get the downloads that I need for this upgrade? Also, where do I get AFImport tool? Could some one please guide me on the upgrade path and where to get the downloads. I really appreciate any help.

Ana,

Please note, the current AF 5 is MISSING A LOT of features the commercial version had, a basic list off the top of my head;

- Basic profile/AF avatar
- On/off line icon for users
- Recent posts module (though this is in testing in the current beta version)
- Removed PM icon
- No longer support 3rd party PM modules
- Several setting functions have been removed
- No more email reply/post function

Plus the new avatar system that supposed to pull the DNN profile avatar is buggy and does not work for everyone.

IMO it is a stripped down mess. I would suggest if the social hooks are not that a big deal to you to upgrade to AF 4.x and stay there for the time being or move on to something like the DNN version of YetAnotherForum (which is what I did any very happy I did so). Hope that helps.
