The website is http://www.ikasystems.com. It did get fixed when we upgraded to 7.00.03, and now it works the way it should. I agree that the site should use Friendly URLs (instead of "Human Friendly URLs"). I don't know why the ad agency who designed the site switched it off. Would it be OK to convert to Friendly URLs even though the site is now live? I think it would spare a lot of problems down the road.

That site already has the friendly Urls switched on, so you shoudl be OK in the future.

I just looked in our test site's web.config file like that article said to do, and the code  urlFormat="humanfriendly"  was in there. So I removed it. Now I'm testing the site, and everything seems to be navigating fine, and now the tabid is in the URLs. I feel much better about that :)

I wouldn't recommend removing the 'humanFriendly' attribute unless there is a very specific reason for doing so. Having the tabId values in the Url is an inferior solution in regards to Search Engine optimisation.

I also have a problem with Forums and Friendly URLs.

When I turn friendly URLS on and POST a new topic... everything works fine.

As an example, my URL looks like:-

http://192.168.1.101/forums/Martinste...

I then try and post a quick reply and get a HTTP Error 404.0 - Not Found error page.

When I look at the URL it is:-

http://192.168.1.101/Martinstest/CARP...

I notice the URL is MISSING the forums/ part. WHen I manually add it, the browser displays the proper page.

So... what do I change to get this fixed? Web.config? Some Admin setting?

Help appreciated.

Regards

Martin
