Hello,

When one of my clients creates a user account on their site or changes their password, the automatic notification email that gets sent out only shows the new password as "*******". This leaves it up to me to email the client myself and tell them what the new password is.

Needless to say, this is a hassle, and a poor use of my time. How can I get the password to show up in the email so I don't have to follow up myself? I am using DNN 6.2.8

Robert,
Just for clarity around your question: If a client creates an account or changes their password - won't they know what their password is already?

I'd highly recommend using this free module for verified password resets: http://www.iowacomputergurus.com/prod...

It solves the "Self Service" problem you mention and it's far more secure than sending passwords in plain text.

Sometimes they ask us to do it for them. . I'll certainly give your module a try, but in case a client doesn't want it .... is there a way to fix that email?

Robert,

isn't it [Membership:Password]?

Best wishes

It is, and as I was looking around the email templates under the Language settings this morning, I see that this token is in place. So now I'm really confused: this token is supposed to show the actual password, and yet it doesn't.

Where else can I check to alter this?
