I have set up a child portal for use as a user group for the company I'm contracting for. The pages and skins are in place and I need to add the user group functionality. I searched the store and forum but couldn't find anything I was sure was the right thing to use. We have just upgraded to DNN 7.00.03. I am a front end person, not a developer, and never used DNN before contracting here, and I've never created a user group site before. So I need a user group module that is pretty automated and won't require a lot of back end configuration. The company wants to go live with this on Friday! I would really appreciate any help!

On a related note, I've just been asked to do the following: "Would it be possible to create a webpage that houses our collateral and is password protected? The sales folks could use this to send out materials electronically." This would be on the main site, not the user group site. I'm sure I can figure out A way to do this, but I was wondering if I could get some advice on the BEST way to do this. Thanks!

Not sure if this was ever resolved. I am quite new myself, but I found that the repository module will work in this case. Just set the permissions for the Sales team.

Hope this helps.

Regarding user groups, DNN ships with a basic user group concept. Check this tutorial out for more info on getting setup: http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Resources/V...

Regarding a password protected area of your site for sales literature, etc....this is quite easy to do using security roles. http://www.spiffywebteam.com/WhatWeDo...
