Thanks to Chris Hammond's excellent video series, I was able to build a module for DNN 7.  The guts of the module were developed and tested as a separate VS 2012 project, and then the pieces were moved into the module.

The problem that I am having is that when the module is placed on a page, the module.css is not being read, and the javascript in the scripts folder that I added is not loading.  If I put the styles and javascript into the view.ascx - they work.

Using the developer tools of IE10 or Firefox shows the presence of the module.css, but does not show any contents.  The javascript shows as file not found.

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Hi Chris,

try open the js file on your browser.
by placing its virtual path on the address.

If you get this error.
'Could not load file or assembly 'DotNetNuke.HttpModules' or one of its dependencies'

Then go and try restart your IIS....

Cheers..!!!

Looks like your virtual directory not being created properly.

Thanks,

I doubt it is the virtual directory not being created properly. I think that would have thrown up other errors first.

The error message seems to be telling the OP what to look at.
