Is there a way to configure my DNN so that registered users can send an email to a role?  I can't seem to find a way that shows available roles in the TO field when a user is composing an email (the way it does when an Admin composes an email).

If DNN doesn't support this, does anyone have a 3rd party option?

Hi Richard
You can use the dnn Newsletter module to send email to particular role of user.

Thanks,

Hi Sunil,

Thank you for your reply.  The users who need to send an email to a particular role don't have access to the Newsletter feature.  In other words,  I have a registered user (not an admin) who wants to send an email to a role called "Members".  Since this user is not an Admin, how can I allow him access to send an email to anyone in the "Members" role?

I find it hard to believe that only administrators can send emails to roles.  I feel like I might be missing something fundamental here.

Hi Richard
You can achieve this in this way.
First add the newsletter module to a page which is accessible to registered user.
Go in edit mode.
Open up settings>permissions.
Uncheck "Inherit View permissions from Page" if checked.
Set View permission to Registered user.

Now you can see the module on the page as a Registered user.

Thanks,

Thanks Sunil!

THAT totally makes sense now.  I wasn't thinking about adding the module to another page.

Regards,

Richard
