This is driving me insane.  I am using:

Windows Server 2008 R2
IIS 7
DNN 6.2.1
AD Auth 5.0.4
classic mode
.net 4

AD authentication works but auto login prompts for username and password.  So when I browse to http://www.website.com/desktopmodules/authentication/activedirectory/windossignin.aspx it prompts me for username and password in stead of just logging me in.

I have anonymous turned off for windowssignin.aspx and the site is added to my trusted sites in IE.

What in the world am I missing?

That popup is generated by IIS and usually adding the site to your trusted sites or your intranet sites list is what allows it to take your credentials on your computer and pass them through.

So a couple of possibilities... you entered the url wrong (i.e used https instead of http). I usually just go with http://*.website.com myself. You could also try putting it in the intranet sites instead of trusted sites.

Interesting. Adding it to the Local Intranet worked, which drives me even more crazy.

We have an intranet setup exactly the same way only the url only needs to be in the trusted sites and not local intranet.

Why is it different with this new install?

It's something to do with IIS AFAIK.
