After upgrading from 6.1.5 with Active Forums/Social to 6.2.6 and changing to the Core Social all posts inc. Forum Topics; Forum Posts; Status Post; anything that should post to the Journal Stream only posts as "Private". Tried posting to "Everyone", "Community" and "Friends". All post as "Private". All settings are On.

Apologies for re-posting here (also in Community Exchange). Desperate to find a solution as it is stopping me from move forwards from Active Social.

I'm now wondering how many people are actually using Social on their sites. I have been looking into this problem thinking that it is an issue with my site, seems as though it is not and is the same on all sites including this site.

I went to my Social pages here on DNN (Click your name at the top right) . Opens in your Profile page. Now click Activity Feed. What do you see if it is like what I see it will only be stuff that you have posted and links to Forum Topics you started etc. In the "Tell the World Something ...." text box. Type something and click the 'eye' icon and post to Everyone or Community Members. It will appear in your Stream and if it is like mine nowhere else.

I went a bit further and set up a new account and we became Friends. We send PM's back and forth. No problem there. Post a message to Friends only but it only appears on the posters stream not on the Friend.

When I post a reply in the forum or a new topic it appears in my Activity Stream, that's okay but I already know that. It doesn't appear on anyone else's Stream.

Conclusion is that Active Social is better.

When one posts on a Social Network to "Everyone" or "Community" or "Friends" should those Groups not be able to see the posts on their Activity Stream? Or do I have it wrong?

The current dnn core social is sadly somewhat of a mess... compared to active social ... in typical dnn form instead of just continuing the good work on the 3rd party module they have managed to break what was a not too bad module.

Thanks for your reply Wes. I was beginning to think I was the only one having this issue. Looks like all efforts have been directed at DNN Social For PE and Ent. Makes one wonder the future of CE.

Does anyone actually have a working Activity Steam from the Journal?
