Suddenly I notice that no new users are created in DNN by the AD provider.
This probably because of upgrade of DNN - now running 7.0.4 from 6.x.
I've installed the latest AD provider - 05.00.05 - and verified the configuration - and it seems ok.
I've also checked the IIS config, and auth settings for Windowssigning.

Existing users can logon with no problems.
New users get a 401 - Unauthorized: Access is denied due to invalid credentials....

No errors in DNN evenviewer or in Windows eventviewer.

Any hints?

There should be no problem running the provider under DNN 7. I've currently got a few DNN7 test sites running the provider. What pipeline mode is your site running under? DNN 7 requires that it run under the integrated pipeline so to run the provider you have to run two commands on the server that are covered in the release notes when installing and in the documentation (http://dnnauthad.codeplex.com/documen...).

Hi Mike, thank you for replying.

I'm running integrated pipeline mode (2008 R2/IIS7.5). I've followd the instructions (used the provider for some years now on different portals).

The exception I got I now believe was due to a bad useraccount(did a quick rename to add domain name to username on on of my test accounts directly in the database as test), and not related to the problem that useraccount are not autocreated.

If i create accounts manually in DNN named "domain\username" - AD users gets logged in. My portal is running formsbased auth, and windows based auth on the windowssigning.aspx file.

Been trough the documentation and configuration a couple of times now ;)
Maybe its time to nuke web.config ?

Another thing you shouldn't have to do but I guess it couldn't hurt. When you go into the configuration for the provider do you get all OKs?
