What about IE or Chrome? Firefox has issues with Windows Authentication in my experience though I've used it in older versions (I stopped using Firefox on a daily basis because I got tired of their Adobe like updating). Your web.config is still set to Forms Authentication correct?

Hi Mike, we use IE9 as our regular browser - just tested to log on manually with Firefox - but that did not make any difference.
All our computers are domain joined, and IE security zones is controlled by policy. (but no changes has been made)
The problems started after the upgrade of the portal to 7.x from 6.x - also then upgrading the AD provider. (and installed .net 4.5 etc)
Since the portal worked fine for AD users that already had visited the portal I did not catch this error in the testing after upgrading.

I will now try to recreate the problem in a test environment, and add new users manually in our production DNN as a temporary workaround ...

I too am having the same problem. Started out of the blue, no known changes have caused it. I have a old version of my Intranet site running DNN 6.1.4 and my upgraded site running DNN 6.2.6. Both were running Auth module 5.0.3 when the problem started. I have moved to 5.0.6 hoping it was the solution, but it has not fixed the problem. Both of these sites are running on a single server, so I have to guess the problem boils down to a config problem on the server? I have read through this thread, and confirmed my settings (and I get green check marks in the provider). Existing account OK, new accounts get "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage". I do not have a web.config inside the provider folder as Audun did.

Mike, I am hoping you can point me some sort of direction to troubleshooting this. Thus far, I am exactly like Audun except I don't ever see 401.
