I have an existing site running DNN 05.06.03 CE that was running under it's domain (let's call it www.mydomain.com) just fine.  We recently needed to move the root domain to another server, but wanted to keep the old site up to refer back to, so I added a domain alias old.mydomain.com and set my DNS records to point the old. subdomain to the old server and verified I could access the site using old.mydomain.com.

All was working fine until it came time to switch the DNS to point www.mydomain.com to the new server.  After that change was made, regular users can no longer login to the old site, but Host users can.

What's going on here and is there a way to fix it so all users on the old site can still access it using the old. subdomain?

Thanks,  Marty

Marty,

If you have not already done this: try to delete the www.mydomain.com Alias from the Site Settings of the old web site, and be sure that you don't have the old.mydomain.com Alias on the new one.

Best wishes
Michael

i have similar problem> regular users cant login , host user can. event log says login successful, no exception afterwards.

before this version dnn was sometimes making this nasty bug: you logged in and whole page was loaded INSIDE login window, there user was logged in. if u closed login window user was NOT logged in.

so i think these two bugz are related.

help?
