Good Morning,

I am getting confused about how to setup SMTP in my new DNN7 install.

If I remember correctly, you used to be able to setup the SMTP per site but now it appears that SMTP is setup per portal?

Is that correct or am I missing something please?

I want to put the SMTP settings that a customer has given me into their site but cannot work out how to do it....

Thanks

As long as I can recall, SMTP settings have always been per installation and are configured under Host --> Host Settings. Note that "site" and "portal" are synonymous. There is some consideration being given in future DNN versions to extend SMTP settings to allow for per site configuration.

What problems are you having in configuring SMTP settings?

Some E-Mail Server didn't allows Relaying, and so the E-Mail adsress of the Sender have to be the same as the mail Login on your Host Settings.  This means that your email Settings on site and host Settings must be the same address!

Hi,

I think in dnn7 too, the way to do the SMTP settings is same as that of the previous versions i.e by going to Host -> Host Settings -> Advance Settings

Thanks,
