It appears as if the DNN function
GetTabByName(TabName As String, PortalId As Integer, ParentId As Integer)

is broken in 7.0.5 (or maybe earlier). If a TabName is not unique and requires the ParentId to retrieve the correct, specific instance of a TabName, the function is always returning a null object even though the TabName exists under the ParentId. We have upgraded from 6.2.4 to 7.0.5 and it was working correctly in 6.2.4.

The alternate function
GetTabByName(TabName As String, PortalId As Integer)

returns a valid TabInfo object, but not neccessarily the correct instance. This is a serious breaking change. Anyone out there having the same problem and know of a workaround other than write your own function and recode everything that was working to use your custom function.

Hi Michael
Yes I did that (DNN-26125), but I know the guys can take  quite a while to react, so I was hoping for a quicker response from here while we wait for it to be fixed officially.
