Our client wants us to make a few modifications to the Form and List module for their purposes. I'm not very familiar with DNN module development, so far I've figured out I probably need to create an "extension package" for my new build and install that using the DNN admin interface. However, I can't figure out how to do that using the source code from the Source package from Codeplex.

I noticed there's some custom MSBuild targets, and I tried running:

    msbuild UserDefinedTable.csproj /t:PackageModule

from a command line, but that doesn't seem to have accomplished anything. Is there a way to make the downloadable source conveniently spit out something I can feed to DNN?

Hi,

First create the package by going to Host -> Extension -> Module Name.
Click on Edit this Extension and create the package.

Now, you can easily install that package through the dnn interface.
Go to Host -> Extensions -> Install Extension Wizard and follow the instructions and you are done.

Thanks,

If you want to create a customized package, you should modify namespaces and module name to protect your changes from being overwritten by installing a newer version or original Form and List module.

That gives me an installer package without the C# sources, or even the required DLL. That's not really helpful, I definitely need to make changes to the actual code.

there should be an option to include source code and .dll should be included automatically (but otherwise you should be able to add files within the wizard).
