Hi Peter,

I think guiding you on the complexities of doing VB.Net development is beyond the remit of this forum. I used to recommend some tutorials by Michael Washington on DotNetNuke Module Development but I think they may now be a little antiquated, but there are many guides discoverable via google which would give you a basis to work from.

The basics which assume you know how to use Visual Studio 2010:-

  • A working DNN site on a development computer, i.e. not your production site. You do not need the DNN source code
  • Install the source version of the events modules
  • Edit your code and test
  • When you do a Release compile, you will need MSBuild installed on your PC - more details on this is called out on the Documentation page of our CodePlex site
  • Release compilation will create the installation packages for you to install on your production site.

Cheers
Roger
