If I have a site named www.mysite.com and then setup a child portal named www.mysite.com/child, is there any way to add a menu item (page) named "Child" on the parent portal that links to the child portal?

For example, on the parent portal I would have these menu items:  Home  |  About  |  Child  |  Contact.
When I click "Child" I want to be redirected to www.mysite.com/child/home.aspx.

When I try to add the 'Child' page on the parent I receive this error message:  "There has a site domain same with your page path."

I understand the error, I'm just wondering if there is any way around it to accomplish what I am trying to.

This can be done by using a page name icon. The icon (or small image with the word "Child" written on it as in your example) will be displayed in the menu instead of the actual page name. Then you can use any page name you want. Here are the directions.

1. Make a new page named something similar to "Child" like "ChildWeb." It doesn't matter what you name it, except as you know, it cannot be exactly the same as the subweb name.
2. Create a small image in Photoshop or similar showing text with the real name you want in the menu. In your example, it would say "Child".
It should be small enough to fit in the menu and you should match the font and text color to what is used in your menu. I suggest a transparent background and a height around 22px.
3. Save the image as a transparent .png or .gif and upload the image to the website
4. Go to the Page Settings for the "ChildWeb" page
5. Go to the Advanced Settings tab and set the icon file name to your new image.
6. Lower down that page in the Other Settings section choose link type=URL
7. Paste or type your URL to the child web to the Location field
8. Update the page settings.

As a result, the menu shows the image with the desired page name displayed and DNN does not complain that you can't have that page name in the menu.
