I am trying to update from DNN 6 to 7. It seemed to work and asked for Host password, and said update complete.

However when the site started it just said a DNN error has occured and nothing else.

So I resotred my backup SQL file and copied the original site back. I changed IIS back to ASP 2.0.

Now the original DNN 6 site Will Not Start, it says;

Unrecognized attribute 'requestValidationMode'

 What is that????

This is an exact copy of the site that worked on this server an hour ago. It is the standard community version and NOT the source code version.

Hi Joel,

Not sure what may have gone wrong with the backup/restore process, but I recommend you to open the web.config file, locate requestValidationMode property and remove it. Save the web.config.

That should help.

Cheers,

Aderson

Make sure you .Net on 3.5 SP1. Not sure if that is your problem though.
