You can fix it by adjusting the settings of the module that has that typo. It doesn't look like it's part of the default for that module. It's in the template for creating the portal and not an RESX file. So, you can fix it in the Template file to address the problem for new portals, but you'll have to manually edit it for existing portals.

there is a template in Module Settings, last tab of the membership module.
Other text might be caused by language pack, please check with default language as well (and report back)
