Updating a username in DNN 7

Hi!

I'm new to DNN and using DNN 7. One of the requeriments is a user to be able to change is username. Is this possible programatically, without going to SQL?

Hi
User has the facility of changing his firstname,lastname and other information except the username. As username is unique to that user. This also has no relation with the name displayed for user. So why do you want to provide this feature?

Hi!

We want the username to be an email to simplify the number of credentials the user has to know. But also to provide a mechanism to the user to change its email / username.

I had to do this recently and to save it from all getting very messy we used the Data Springs Dynamic registration module which can allow user name changes and also has some nice related features.

DNN 7 (maybe starting with 7.1.0, I am not quire sure) allows changing the user names as well, you may also configure the email address being used as user name.
