Only the workaround I posted - adding certain additional modules to the page that somehow makes the edit work. I didn't hear from anyone else with other solutions.

I'm having the same exact problem on a fresh install of DNN 7.2.0.(607). The problem is in the skin, but I can't figure out what to include.

Has anyone else encountered this?

Did you read these http://www.dnnsoftware.com/wiki/Page/... and http://www.dnnsoftware.com/wiki/Page/...

Russell's workaround almost certainly works because on of the modules he found satisfies these requirements, and thus loads what the skin should load.

Thank You Richard!!!

This is my first attempt to convert one of my DNN6 skins to DNN7.  So based on your links I fixed the problem by adding the following to the first line in my skin: (Note: I skin in HTML and upload/parse)

(object id="dnnjQuery" codetype="dotnetnuke/server" codebase="JQUERY")
        (param name="DnnjQueryPlugins" value="true" /)
(/object)

~replace parenthesis with angle brackets~

Also Note:  This is not needed in the skin if you have Admin -> Site Settings -> Advanced Settings -> Usability Settings -> Control Panel Security set to Module Editors which is the default.

Thanks again Richard for pointing me in the right direction!

You are welcome - and kudos for publishing the final answer so that others get helped.

Just picking up on your note about Module Editors. IMO those special skin objects are provided to 'just do the right thing' In this case to load the javascript if it's not there already.

On that basis I say it SHOULD be in your skin ALWAYS. That way the skin works even if someone changes the site setting. If it's a private skin then it's your own problem and you can be more cavalier about following best practices. I find whenever I do that - I usually regret it sometime later. :-)

Best wishes,
