Hello,

I'm really happy about the changes to the password management coming in 7.1... I just wanted to not a big usability issue we've run in to...

When you have "Require Unique Email" turned on, then the password reset form shows both username and email address. We've found this incredibly confusing for our users. I changed the text to say in big bold letters that they can enter either one, but most people don't read that stuff. We actually get annoyed emails from people who say they can't remember their user name, so what should they do?

I would recommend this: if unique email is turned on, show the email address field on top, then, below email, put a button for something like "Use my username" that then just uses some jquery to hide the email box and show the username box.

I think it's much more likely that people remember their email addresses than their username - that's why it should be on top. And, you should only show one at a time because DNN is only actually using one and otherwise it just creates confusion.

Thanks,

Mike

sounds like a valid point, I haven't tested this feature yet.
