Hi!

  • There's a working website on a hosting, which needs adding some interface language translations
  • I managed to understand that it is a one of DNN templates
  • I don't know nothing about DNN. Only CMS I am familiar with is  Joomla. No time for reading the whole documentation and learning DNN from scratch. But there are a couple of books and videos that i have here.
  • As i understand it: I need to download a full site and database copy from hosting to try this and that locally without interfering the work of present website functionality, to translate menu items and content, to make a site multilingual and then (*very optimistic) upload the site back to the hosting instead of what is there now.

2 Questions:

  1. Is my logic above more or less correct?
  2. What do I need to do this correctly? ( Locally I have w7, .net framework 3.5 sql express 2008)(oviously there has to be an admin password for managing website and accessing the database, I have only password for hosting and I see all the folders and can download them via FTP)

If you login as an admin or host you can translate your modules etc. With the language options you will find under the admin options. There you select your module you want to change and then select the correct file (sometimes there are more files for one module)
