Hi Guys

So I created a very complex series of UserControls starting with a Layout ascx, then added various parts and within some of those parts, more mini usercontrols.

This I did because of the amount of code required for this particular page. I built it outside of the DNN Environment and add the layout ascx to DNN Installation and added to page using OpenSmart.

It works and tested well outside of the environment but falls over by doing full postbacks within the environment.

Did my research and turns out the DNN somehow overrides all of my ASP:UpdatePanel conditional settings and forces full postback.

Why would you do that? and whats the workaround or setting to switch this off?

Frustrated

Mark,

you don't need the ASP UpdatePanel, just check "Supports Partial Postbacks" for the control in the module definition (under Host :: Extensions).

Best wishes
Michael

As another thought on this, it might be the opposite - do you perhaps have "Supports Partial Rendering" turned on? Because, as Michael said, that just basically wraps your module in an update panel. I've used both the RadAjaxManager as well as update panels in a number of complex scenarios and haven't run into any trouble.

Hope this helps,

Mike

Hi guys

Sorry, I didnt get notifications on this.

Yes all sorted now! Actually combined a mixture of UpdatePanels and Partial Rendering.

It works fine in DNN but not in standard Ajax Enabled sites, but got what I wanted in the end.
