Hi,
I have latest version of DNN Media module installed on my site. And I am seeing wmv file is supported on the window of "Edit media options" window. But I could not see wmv file on my site showing available for select as the media file.
What could be the reason or how to fix it?

Thanks for your helps,
Tony

Hallo Tony

I do not use the media module however you may need to add wmv as an allowable file type for your site.
Host / Host Settings / Allowable File Extensions

Not sure about this but you may also need to add as a MIME type in your hosting.

Also:

Consider not using wmv at all. It is not a good file format to do progressive download playing.
It will also probably not play without plugins on most browsers.

Much better to encode / convert to an H264 format. Normally as an mp4 file

Thanks Ian,
I tried to upload a smaller wmv file, instead of by FTP the big wmv file, Media module started to regonize wmv file I uploaded. And it works.
I think it could be something wrong with the FTP of the hosting enviornment. Thought?

I will try to see whether I can convert vidoe into mp4, thanks for the suggestion.

Regards,
Tony

HI Tony

Glad it now works.
If the file was over 8MB in size you may have had a problem as most dnn sites are set to a maximum of 8MB file upload size.

There is a YouTube video on how to do this here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lroPSJ...
And a post about it here http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Resources/F...
