Hi,

A clean DNN330 or DNN430 install creates/leaves invalid procedures on the database.

Seems to be obsolete procedures, upgraded from previous versions .

Those stored procedures are:

    * AddEvent
    * DeleteEvent
    * GetEvent
    * GetEvents
    * GetEventsByDate
    * UpdateEvent
    * Forum_ForumUserViewsUpdate

Can they be safely deleted from the database?

Also it should be nice if all explicit "COLLATION" clauses are removed from the table's creation/modification scripts because can cause conflicts with the default server settings.

Thanks!

I have found the same thing, when trying to troublesheet why a backup and restore script would not run properly. The restore function is trying to re-create stored procedures that reference invalid columns, which throws an error. Once I deleted these seven procedures, the backup/restore worked normally.

I haven't put this through a lot of testing, but I have seen no adverse effects on either the events or forum modules since the procs have been deleted. They would generate an error anyway if they were called from within DNN.

Hopefully these will be cleaned up in the next release of DNN.

the Events procedures might be from previous Events module, that has been replaced by a new Calendar.

Can you specify, where collations are used (at least the module?)

Please log this both into the public issue tracker at support.dotnetnuke.com, so it won't get lost.

Good suggestion - I have opened up an issue on the support site as you suggested.

We've added a "stored procedures validator" (free feature) to our BackupScript module (http:///www.evotiva.com/BackupScript). This feature find and optionally destroy every invalid proc on the database.
