Hi,

I have a site on 484, just a simple text site. Suddenly the FCKEditor toolbars just disappeard and I cannot edit or save text mods. All I see in the radio buttons for Basic Text Box or Rich Text Editor. All else is blank.

There are some errors in the Event logs pertaining to the Events module and the Media module. I've uninstalled these but it makes no difference.

I'd rather fix this than upgrade as it's essential a freeby for someone. Any clues anyone?

FCKeditor is known to have bugs and security issues. It has not been supported for some years now.

I strongly suggest installing successor CKEditor, download latest version from http://dnnckeditor.codeplex.com.
I also suggest the easy upgrade to DNN 4.9.5 for security reasons.

Hi Sebastian,

Thanks for the quick reply. I uploaded and configured CKEditor per your suggestion, restarted application, cleared cache etc. I still don't see the editor toolbars. I see the customer editor options and refresh editor links but otherwise just an empty text box where there should be toolbars. Seems to think it's in basic text box mode even though Rich Text Editor radio button in selected.

Any further thoughts?

Cheers

Phil

Update - Toolbars are visible in Chrome, but not Firefox, IE or Opera (PC and Android)

this sounds like a CSS or JS issue, do you experience the same on pages with DNN default skin and container applied?
