Hey all,

Does anyone have any suggestions on web hosts using DNN?  I'm starting my search with any free ones that might exist.  I came across this DNN4free.com in my Google search.  Sounds promising but the last news update on their site is from 2011 which makes me wonder if they are even still in operation.  Up til now I had a buddy with a server that was allowing me to put a website up there.  Now that server is being shut down so I'm in search mode.  DNN is what I've used in the past, and really love the platform!, so I'd like to stick with that.  Continuing with free until I can really turn my site into a business would be nice.  Any ideas?  Or at least know of any good web hosts that aren't too pricy but give good service?

Personally, I'm not aware of anything free, and free is just not something I'd recommend. You can look at low cost options such as PowerDNN or Applied Innovations, or Azure Web Sites - http://www.windowsazure.com/en-us/pricing/details/web-sites/

Mitch is right, there really aren't and free DNN hosts. And with some of the ones that say they are free they may host your site as a portal of just a single installation, so you want to make sure that when you ask that they can provide you with an answer as to hows your site will be hosted.

Like with PowerDNN we run a full trust environment where you have full access to your site files and database and depending on the plan you choose you could even have remote desktop. I would ask though to make sure what you are getting into.
