I just had someone register with a space at the end of their name. It passed the email validation check and the system sent out verification email. However, when she tried to enter an event, the system told her it wasn't a valid email (correct, emails shouldn't end in a space)

This is what I have for regex (I think from Microsoft), how do I add a check for trailing space or trim it?
^\s*[a-zA-Z0-9_%+#&'*/=^`{|}~-](?:\.?[a-zA-Z0-9_%+#&'*/=^`{|}~-])*@(?:[a-zA-Z0-9_](?:(?:\.?|-*)[a-zA-Z0-9_])*\.[a-zA-Z]{2,9}|\[(?:2[0-4]\d|25[0-5]|[01]?\d\d?)\.(?:2[0-4]\d|25[0-5]|[01]?\d\d?)\.(?:2[0-4]\d|25[0-5]|[01]?\d\d?)\.(?:2[0-4]\d|25[0-5]|[01]?\d\d?)])\s*$

Im not great at regexp but typically you specify the characters set [a-zA-Z0-9] or use \W (see http://regexlib.com/REDetails.aspx?regexp_id=1971 for an example). However in your case the character sets are there already, so I think the problem is with \s at the start and end as that says allow any whitespace character (http://regexlib.com/CheatSheet.aspx)
