Hi ,

I'm looking for a forum module that allows emailing to a forum and allows replying to a post or starting a new topic. . As the old Active Forums did. Codeplex does this, Drupal, Joomla do this, but not DNN any more.

I'll pass on a note I received as a help witht his project

__" Erik van Ballegoij
As far as I know, the mail connector was dropped when Active Forums was made open source, because the mail connector component did not allow for an open source type license (it was a commercial component).

I think the best thing you can do is to get in touch with the people that are working on the module right now, through the codeplex page here: https://activeforums.codeplex.com/.

I just did a quick search, this component http://sourceforge.net/projects/hpop/ seems to be a good replacement for this functionality, however, it would have to be built in the product to work."__

The project describes itself as a _" .NET library written in C# with a full implementation of a POP3 client. Easy to use but yet powerful. Includes a robust MIME parser backed by several hundred test cases.
Our homepage (http://hpop.sourceforge.net/) includes examples, documentation and a general introduction for email. "

Thanks

Paul

There are some really good developers on the ActiveForums project with recent activity.  It's not booming, but.... it is "open source" so they are working for free.  I may join that project if it remains active and help out.

1. Forum.
2. A skin creator that can compete with Artisteer.
3. An HTML module for adding, organizing/managing content area, layout, text/columns/pics,etc. EASILY vs the cumbersome way we have it now.
4. Hosting Account/Billing/Domain Name Manager so we can easily manage our client sites info from within DNN.

Another count for "Forum".  Interesting.

I have a skin building tool in design, but it's very low priority.  I'll move that up.
