I just registered for a hosting service from a non DNN professional provider that support ASP.NET version 4 and MS SQL server. I used provided web-interface database management to create database. I also configure the connection string in Web.configure file. The DNN installation process seem to start normally with successfully connecting to database. However, it get stuck at 15% with the following error "[ERROR] DotNetNuke.Services.Upgrade.Upgrade System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException (0x80131904): Could not allocate a new page for database 'mydatabase' because of insufficient disk space in filegroup 'PRIMARY'. Create the necessary space by dropping objects in the filegroup, adding additional files to the filegroup, or setting autogrowth on for existing files in the filegroup."

I am so confused because I used to successfully install DNN platform for my friend using the same hosting service from the same provider.

I have no ideal why I have this error this time. I try to re-create database and re-install with different DNN version but I still get that error.

Any one could help me?

Cheers,

Tim

The error message seems pretty clear to me. It says you don't have enough space.

Best wishes,

Are you sure you upgraded both Connection strings?  After failed install you have to delete the database and files andstart from scratch!  Be sure you unlook the install package before you extract it. (Right click on the package, select Advanced Settings, check unlook button).  Be sure the Default Schema of database is dbo if not you have to Change the databaseOwner in the web.config file.

SQL Server must be MS SQL 2008 or higher.
